Dizzle JA hopes to inspire with ‘Prayer’

Recording artiste Dizzle JA is hoping to inspire others with his latest single, ' Prayer', which is featured on his EP titled ' Born Again'.

The artiste, who has been battling blood cancer, explained the inspiration behind the song.

"The thought of just seeing on the Internet most times that a loved one or a friend has passed away, and you know nothing [about what] the person was going through, that thought alone made me say to myself if anything was supposed to happen to me, I want to put it out there before," he said.

"I want everyone to know what I was going through so I could get people all over the world, including my family, friends and fans who support my music, to pray for me and pray with me. The inspiration came to me when I came out of the hospital. I didn't even have to write the song, the words just came to me."

He said that the nine-track Born Again was very easy to create as the concept and lyrics stem from his current situation and the motivation he had at the time.

"When it comes to the production, I told my producer the concept, and he came up with all the beats for the project," Dizzle JA confided. He said that his thought process with the EP centres on him getting a second chance at life.

"So I definitely wanted to thank the Creator and just let the world know that once you lean on the Creator, He will come through for you, because in my situation, I had no one else to call up on but Him. My meditation was high and I had a story to tell the world," Dizzle JA reasoned.

The singjay shared that when he was diagnosed, the situation reignited his relationship with God.

"It definitely drew me closer to the Creator. I was getting more spiritual, closer to my family and it was just showing me that mankind really just have a short lifespan on this Earth, so you gotta do what you gotta do and the time is now," he said. Dizzle JA said he has had to make a few life changes since his diagnosis.

"I had to change my diet, start working out more often, cutting out certain types of food, getting more rest and just seeking the natural herbs of the land," he said.

To date, Dizzle JA has released 10 full-length albums and five EPs. Some of his songs have been featured in movie soundtracks. Originally from St Thomas, Dizzle JA, given name Bertony Reynolds, now resides in Southern California.
