Valiant to host birthday bash ahead of US tour
Even as he prepares for an international tour, dancehall star Valiant plans to unwind with his team at his birthday celebration in the US on Friday, September 19.
Speaking to THE WEEKEND STAR, the Outlandish artiste revealed that the private gathering that will feature several superstars is also his way of pausing to recognise his personal accomplishments.
"It's approaching four years since my breakthrough on the dancehall scene [and I've been] strong and consistent. I felt like I just needed to remind myself how far I've come and just celebrate with my friends and fans. I really just felt like celebrating and giving thanks," said Valiant.
This event is dubbed 'Valiant Private Birthday Party', and marks the start of another year of major milestones of possible growth and success for the artiste, as well as another musical landmark ahead of his US-Canada tour. He stressed the importance of balancing work with a little bit of pleasure.
"The celebration is being organised by my team and US promoters - The Diplomats. So you know, the guest list indeed has some special guests. Top of the list of course, myself, fully enjoying myself; [so] this celebration is to also unwind with my hard-working team," he underscored.
However, while the singjay sets things in place for his upcoming tour, he said he mostly anticipates connecting with fans while gaining new ones, meeting new people and strengthening his legacy.
The tour is set to kick off on October 19, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, after which he'll be visiting Vancouver in British Columbia on October 22, before making a US stop in Portland, Oregon on October 24. Additional tour dates are set to be confirmed soon.
Valiant said the decision to undertake this tour was based on the people's choice.
"I made a post on my social media account [asking] 'Caribbean Tour or US Tour?' and the fans were going crazy in my DM - 50/50 on the responses - I think they are indeed ready," he said excitedly.
Though Valiant's career has been reaping much international traction and securing several impactful awards and deals, he expressed hoped for this tour to cement his name, impact and musical contributions more on a global scale.
"Honestly, I'm just putting my best out there for the fans. I am a very creative person, so hopefully my creativity aligns with God's timing so that my work reaches the fans across the world," said Valiant. He promised that fans will not be left disappointed.
"For sure, I will be delivering my best performance, no holding back. The Valiant that they love to see and hear will be out 100 per cent. I will be doing meet-and-greet also," he said.
